Appropriate radiotelephony equipment is selected, tuned and operated within the regulations and OH&S/SMS standards while:

 

(1) Send/receiving routine traffic.

 

 

(2) Send/receiving simulated distress traffic.

 

(3) Send/receiving simulated DSC traffic.

 

Describe the routine maintenance, fault finding and remediation identified in manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures.

 

Complete an AUSREP form.

 

Carry out routine serviceability checks on EPIRBs and SARTs and rectify malfunctioning units in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and company procedures

 

Simulate the correct deployment of EPIRBs & SARTs.
