CC EX 16b – FIRST AID UPDATE- MEDEVACS:

Task:  To perform triage and to stabilize a casualty in order that they may be rescued to a place of safety and further medical care.

Scenario:

 Casualty is recovered from a vessel that exploded. There are glass shards imbedded in and around the eye.

• How would you stabilize this casualty?

• What precautions would you take and how would you move the casualty to enable evacuation to a place of safety.

• What aftercare would you provide while evacuating the casualty?

• What information would you provide paramedics on reaching the shore?
